In the program window you can see a list of things running on your computer. It takes some education to figure out what all this stuff is so be patient this can be done...
Every line in the main program report window has a check box next to it. That is just a select box. You can select the things that you already know are safe and click on "Add checked to ignore list." Before you do this you should go through the Hijack This! Log Analyzer process. If you have already parsed your log continue below.
Items in the parser that are green can be checked and sent to the "Ignore list" to clean up some. You can get them back here later if you need to.
For items that are blue look over the entire line and see if you can tell if it a program you know to be safe (eg. Acrobat Reader, Microsoft Office, etc.). Check those items and add them to the "Ignore list."
Items that are Orange can be safely removed by the program by checking them and clicking "Fix Checked."
Now it's time for the real work... So ya wanna be a techie ehh?!?! Maybe not so much, but still.....
